    Oscars- The Wrath of Shatner!

    Anybody watch the Oscars?

If you didn't, you missed the Shat (in full TWOK attire), addressing about a billion people watching, and being "funny".
Man, its getting really hard to watch Star Trek and take the character of James T. Kirk seriously anymore. When will this man retire?

I watched and enjoyed the show. I wasn't crazy about Shatner since he seems to be everywhere these days.
What I thought really was worth watching through all the over produced fillers was the Bond tribute. Although it could have been better, when Shirley Bassey sang gold finger, I was blown away.

I caught dribs and drabs, McFarlane wasn't bad from what I saw. Bassey was really impressive.

The wife and I watch it every year. I thought this year's was around average, I've seen better and I've seen worse. I thought McFarlane did a decent job, the guy does have talent. The Bond tribute could have been much better, a reunion of all the Bonds was planned, but supposedly Connery and Brosnan weren't being cooperative. Bassey singing "Goldfinger" was awesome though.

It was a decent show this year. McFarlane was funny, but some jokes were a bit risky. The one about Lincoln was a bit too much, imo.
"Daniel Day-Lewis got into the head of Lincoln. Impressive. But who really got into the head of Lincoln was John Wilkes-Booth, of course."

I really liked the fact that Bond finally got some attention. I loved Skyfall. Bassey was impressive, but I felt that both she Adèle seemed a bit unsure in the beginning. But let's not forget, Bassey is 75. What a voice!

Btw, anyone notice Renee Zellwegger? Was she drunk? She could hardly stand up or even read the name in the envelope.

But he had a great comeback after the audience gasped at that joke...150 years too soon?

              lol

McFarlane was actually very tame, I thought he did a great job.

Bassey, Adale, and Streisand were all great, they all have powerful yet smooth voices.

The singer who tried to sing too hard and came across as schreechy was Jennifer Hudson, yet she also got a standing ovation, ridiculous.

Zeta Jones did OK for a non pro singer.

Seeing Shat in that Star Trek suit makes me wish they would let him play in the new Star Trek movie --

Not as Kirk (of course) but as an Admiral or something

He still looks pretty good (better than Nimoy)

Nimoy hasn't had plastic surgery...he's aging naturally (and gracefully).

Shatner has had facial procedures...he looks like your typical aging Hollywood star.

To me, Nimoy looks much better...more natural...like a natural human being of his age...not some fake-looking puppet.

Shatner looks like someone who is on steroids for medical reasons. The puffy, inflated face. He's not THAT overweight, his head just seems to have ballooned in the last 10 years or so.

Especially if you compare it to what he said during the Charlie Sheen Roast.

I was walking through the room when Adele was singing and I would have sworn she was lip syncing, it sounded so good.
