I knew a thread like this was bound to hurt someone's feelings....cause I know if I would've lost someone close to me to a suicide I would've been upset as well
Like I said, don't judge anyone until you know....Because I truly believe that that is one of those things that could happen to anyone at any time I don't care who you areLeave a comment:

sorry to hear bro, i had a friend in HS who killed himself over a girl and i've never forgotten him , so i can't even begin to imagine a family memberMy Father committed suicide, he was not selfish or cowardly nor was he crazy. He was the strongest man I know. Before people talk about **** that they have never lived though should think about the feelings about others that have. I blame myself because I moved out of his house to move closer to work 6 months before he did it. You never get over it.Leave a comment:

I definitely believe it's genetic- my grandfather was manic depressive as well as my mother. But I disagree that that's the first thing people think. Too much of a generalized statement.

Depression is a terrible disease- my mother is diagnosed manic-depressive, now referred to as bipolar (my grandfather was as well). When she's down she makes irrational decisions and has attempted suicide multiple times. She goes through long periods where she can't function in society. It's debilitating and I can't imagine ever being severely depressed.

Very sad news. My heart goes out to those that loved her. No one can help her now, but there's plenty of work to be done for those she left behind. Sorry you have to go through this JDeRouen.

That's very interesting. When I was young I considered jumping.Statistically speaking, most women kill themselves with pills (psychologically/subconsciously they think they'll still look good afterward) where opening a vein is second. Men usually do it with guns or jumping off or in front of things so I'm curious how did she do it?
Pretty strong opinion for someone you didn't know so well Joe. Maybe you should take a step back and re-think about it.Leave a comment:

Suicide is selfish and never considers those who care about you. I had a very good friend who attempted it years ago and it affected a lot of ppl.Leave a comment:

She was a teacher? What grade? The kids...half of them will be in therapy if they weren't all ready. Thats the selfish part really. Her death will always have an imprint on them.

I'm glad you got help, Joe--I can respect that, because it's not easy. I know from personal experience as well.Leave a comment:
