    Mcdonald's

Do you guys actually remember when it was a real treat to get to go to McDonald's back in the day? Also, to Burger Chef to get those cheezy fun meals. Ha. I still love the McDonald's sundae...

The Happy meal with Toy just turned 25 years old I believe.

I like the Chocolate Sudae and wish it was still on the dollar menu!
Too many toys. Not enough space!

Back when Star Wars was first released, my buddy's mom took us to see it.
Afterward she treated us to McDonalds cheese burgers, fries and apple pies (the good old apple pies they don't make anymore).
Yea, back then McDonalds was a treat.......
But, I lived in the sticks, so it was a hike just to get to the closest one.
Biggest treat though was going to Stewarts drive-in.

Yeah going to McDonalds was a special event.

Also, going to Dairy Queen was a big thing in the summer.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

And soda was only one of those thing you had if you went to a ball game, the rollerskating rink, or for New Years Eve.

I remember when I played Little League and across from the ballpark was a Dairy Queen. Whenever we won a game we always got to go over there for a free sundae served up in a little plastic MLB helmet.
Also remeber going to Burger King for an Ice Buuurger, kind of a popcicle kind of thing.

We had 2 Dairy Queen's not far from me.
They weren't really that popular back then....

I think because there was also a Ma-&-Pa icecream drive-in that used to kill Dairy Queen's business because everything they sold was twice as big as anything you get from Dairy Queen-- and they were cheap.

              Funny thing is,
              30+ years later......
Both Dairy Queen's are still here but the Ma-&-Pa icecream drive-in is now long gone.
I guess they sold stuff too cheap

Yeah going to McDonalds as a kid was always lots of fun, especially when my mom would get down and let us play in the playground

Well if you're in Jersey it could be a Rally's up there..Rally's and Checkers are both owned by the same company and sell the same products.

I went to a Rally's once in Ohio ... Dublin to be exact.
                      Damn good burgers.
Never seen any around here though, (northeast PA)

I just looked on the net to see what was the closest Checkers to me...
Looks like the closest Checkers is in mid Jersey......
About maybe 35-ish miles from here....
                      Definitely within my eating-range

I was just thinking about this the other day.

My daughter just turned 11 and we took her out to dinner to celebrate her birthday.

For me, a trip to McDonald's would have been nirvana. We never went there unless it was a special treat. DQ or Carvel was the place to go if we received good grades on our report cards.

Now, McDonald's just doesn't cut it anymore. We used to eat at McDonald's a lot but have since stopped going so we could eat healthier foods. We hardly go out to eat much but when we do, it's usually not a fast food restaurant.

Thinking back, it is hard to believe that my parents thought it was a good idea to have us eat so much of that stuff! But man, did it taste good....and bringing the food home and eating in front of the tube or while playing atari 2600 or even the bally astrocade, with the grease helping the joystick action....

Anyone ever get close to winning the old mcdonalds monopoly game??? my brother and I had one letter missing each time! they only made like 10 of that one letter for the whole country....
