Did You have a BMX bike as a kid?

Did you have a BMX bicycle as a kid?
One of My other hobbies is 1980s BMX bike restoration.
Kind of getting out of it now since I found My actual 1st BMX I had gotten in 1981.
I sold it in 1986,regretted it and after many years of searching I found the Guy I sold it to and am in the process of restoring it back to 1981 specs.
This is only a 81 Huffy Pro Thunder, not the greatest brand by far,but it was what my parents could afford at the time.
I have owned every type of 80s BMX imaginable, but this one I became sentimental about after the death of my Mother.
Anybody else into the BMX of the past scene?

I had a Rampar R-10 MK II, and I was in love with it. I wish I had it now to give to my nephew.

I've thought about it maybe once or twice. I couldn't really ride it myself now, so it's just kind of in the back of my mind. I also never see them in the color paint mine came in, and I'm not sure I could replicate it properly. It would be a fun little project to tinker with, though.

I had one just like the one in that pic but it was black with yellow foam tubing, and was a Huffy also. After I out grew that one I saved my money and bought another bmx, a little better than the Huffy I had, but a different brand.

I had two Schwinn Scramblers back in the day. The first was chromed and the second a Black Phantom. I'd get together with a group of guys and find some dirt lot to ride around in. I remember mostly seeing Mongoose, Diamondback and Redline bikes back then.

My first bike was a 1980 Huffy Pro Thunder. White frame with red and black accents. I recall that it was heavy and it rusted pretty quickly, but it was tough and it took a beating. My next bike (purchased with paper route money) was a 1985 Redline 600c. I finally dug the Redline out of the garage at our cabin last summer, cleaned it up, and parted it out on ebay. It sold for over $500, which I was thrilled about.

I had a Huffy, and then a Western Flyer. Both bikes were put through the wringer, doing all kinds of jumps and other crazy stuff me and my friends could think of. Both said "certified frame and fork". I realized the value of that, when my friend, whose bike DIDN'T have such a designation, nearly bought the farm as his frame and fork separated while he was on the bike, riding down a steep hill!!!

1981 Redline MXII just like this one verbatim:

Now I have this one 2009 SE Racing Big Ripper since I've always wanted a PK Ripper or Quadangle. Now they make both in adult size:

Wouldn't mind getting this one someday:

I had a black and white Huffy Sigma, the wheels were white covered disks. I remember my dad buying it for me at a Toys R US store.

My buddy down the street had a BMX, but my brother and I had some heavy bikes with frames that weighed a ton and had seats like a mini bike. KmArt'sa All Pro

There was no such thing as a BMX bike when I was a kid. We use to cut the front forks off of old bikes and bolt them onto the forks of our bikes and make them into choppers.
