So, you think Pete Best is a loser? Not me.

There are still Beatles fans out there that call Pete Best one of the "Biggest losers" but in truth when the Anthology albums were released in the mid 90s he received millions upon millions for his cuts on some of the tracks that were dug up with him playing.

So what does Pete Best do these days? He plays!!
His son who is also a drummer/percussionist are apart of the band called the Pete Best Band. They play all over and actually have a cut from their latest album that was played. Here is a cut from a talk show where they appeared.

Ironically Pete Best got back at the Beatles for pasting over his face off the album cover as seen here...

The Pete Best Band's new cover actually takes a joking stab at that by placing the infamous piece where his mug was pasted over from the classic picture. You have to love Pete Best's humor.

Now as for the Pete Best Band's lastest release. If you love ELO or the Beatles you have to pick this up. If for some reason you live in a country or a place that cannot get it, send me an offline. This albums is the best. You can pick it up on LP or CD. I would suggest both.

Pete Best is also a good sport and has long forgotten the past. He said he and Paul McaCartney actually got together in December around Christmas by accident and it was a fun conversation. I cannot find any truthful articles to confirm that information but I also know that Pete claims to own several of the Beatles albums and loves Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and the White Album.
I think for all he has went through, watching some of his interviews on Youtube he seems like he has been through hell (attempted suicide once) and even quit playing in the mid sixties to be a bread stacker for a bread truck. ugh!!

Being a huge Beatles head, I personally never thought he was a loser. It was just a choice that happens in bands quite often. He is a great drummer having heard recordings from way back when. Glad he is able to lift his head up and move forward as a musician and leave it all behind. Enjoy the art while you can because you can't take it with you.

He was in that Rainn Wilson movie The Rocker, and I got the feeling he was a pretty cool guy from it.

I had the honor of meeting Pete Best back in '87 at a Beatles Convention (in Liverpool) and he was a great guy. He was just re-opening the Cavern back then (across the street from the original spot (which was a parking lot (I think)). I was amazed at how nice and down to earth he was..David

I'm a big Beatles fan also. Always thought he seemed like a nice enough guy. Glad he's doing alright . His drumming on anthology was pretty bad, though . Heard good thing about that album you posted - may have to chk it out

I never thought he was a loser...I just thought he was not a good drummer or just about average his drumming on the Decca Audition tapes and the recordings they did with Tony Sheridan were nothing special.. Ringo just fit in. He was part of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes one of the biggest groups in Liverpool at the time...and sat in numerous times with the band when Pete was not around. He actually became close with them. He was going to replace Pete much earlier but had obligations that he had to fulfill before joining officially.

Ringo was just the final piece to put it all together for the Beatles. Pete did not fit with them really. that song you posted is very Beatlesque. sounded good. Album is from 2008 though
