U2 would kick their butts. Considering they are angry Irishmen who have the advantage of being younger, not to mention half of the Beatles are dead. Ringo is scrappy, but Paul doesn't seem like much of a fighter these days.

I enjoy some of U2's Songs...They have talent.

But The Beatles are pure Genius! Their Music is timeless...and U2 isn't even close to being in Their league.

For good or bad, The Beatles are the ultimate iconic rock and roll band...all others follow the template. Just like Elvis is for solo artists.

U2 is my all time favorite band, but they have not done anywhere near as much for music as the Beatles. Even though, arguably, the Beatles spawned as much utter crap (due to their popularity) as great music, great always outweighs garbage.

I love U2, and I think they're the biggest rock band over the last couple decades, but there's no comparison. Beatles vs. Stones has more validity.

Ringo said pre-Beatles he was in a gang....
He also alluded (in a joking manner) the other Beatles were whimps.....
Considering John and George are dead, Paul is a "whimp"...

All that's left is Ringo vrs U2

I am not a Beatles fan, but for sure they are the most successful and popular band ever! The mass appeal of the Beatles in the 60s is incredible; the likes of which I don't think will ever happen again. They were the trend setters in music, as well as clothing and hair-styles. The merchandise, films everything.... wow!

I am a U2 fan, much more the music of my generation, but they will never have the success of the Beatles.

Btw -- I just saw the U2 in 3D movie at IMAX. If you are a fan of U2 it is cool to have a front row seat to the Vertigo concert. And you get to wear 3D glasses

You do know that the 2nd most successful international recording group of all time is ABBA don't you? Why not compare U2 to them and leave the Beatles out of it. No competition - it goes Beatles, ABBA then U2 (maybe that will change if U2 ever inspire an animated movie about a flying yellow submarine - or at the very least learn how to sing in Swedish.)
