I think this whole ordeal has really taken down the entire sport. To think they have no reliable system for nailing people and allowing this fella to be champion seven times is just a complete indictment on the sport. Not just Armstrong. How can you ever have confidence in any cyclist that wins? Answer: You can't. So the sport holds no credibility.

I don't think cycling has had credibility for way more than a decade. It's as dirty as it comes.

My son got the latest issue of MAD in the mail yesterday. The cover has Alfred E. Neuman as Armstrong, astride his bike, crossing the finish line, his arms up in victory...and hundreds of syringes sticking out of his body...

All I know is that a WHOLE lot of cyclists are shaking in their boots right now. And rightly so. The whole sport needs to be cleaned up.

The shame of it is that he did draw a lot of attention and money to cancer research. He was a famous survivor who could be the poster boy for efforts to to find a cure and more effective treatment of the disease.

I do wonder if the blood doping he did had any effect on his cancer, probably not. It could have helped incite it.

Other than that, I have no interest. I wish his confession would end the coverage of the story, but it won't. It only further opens the door to civil suits and possible criminal charges.

The thing about Armstrong, unlike other dopers, is that he viciously attacked back, bullied a lot of people, and destroyed a lot of careers, the guy is simply not right in the head.

Armstrong and his USPS cycling team operated like a mafia.

As far as his cancer, like madmarva said, could've been a result of his doping, you just never know, and he used that for sympathy points to further mask his evil doings.

Oh, he should return that classic car that Chip Foose restored for him in Overhaulin', he definitely did not deserve it, that car should be auctioned off to charity.

Honestly, I don't understand why anyone even cares; I mean, it's cycling , not an actual real sport. But I agree, Armstrong is a huge phony, and I'm glad to see the truth come out.

As much as I despise Lance, to say cycling is not a sport is just plain wrong.

OK, sorry, just not an interesting sport. I'm shocked it gets the attention it does.
