The thing that annoyed me about Argo was the constant forced last second almost got caught scenes throughout the film that gave it some intentionally comedic moments, like booking them their flight info at the last second, the discovery of their shredded pictures at the last second, John Goodman answering the phone at the last second, the plane taking off and getting away at the last second, and so on, too many last second moments, lol.

>simplifying the events to make the story easier to tell, but I don't understand the reason for the insult
I don't think it's seen as an insult; but simplifying it so there's one set of heroes, rather than two, three or more. Most movies, even the smaller ones are marketed, focus grouped and strategized to death. The results are almost completely commercialized. Even the small, indie films any more. It's weird how stuff gets mixed up, but it's the result of numerous hands in the pie; not any sort of planned maliciousness.
WEIRD ASIDE: As an example, I offer this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbxUONuHf0I which started as this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gear_(Image_Comics)
>The involvement of the Canadian government is extremely minimized
American films seem to fall into two, weird, extreme camps. They're either politically sanitized so's to appeal to a worldwide audience (such as GI Joe, featuring so many ninjas) or insanely jingoistic. (Such as that film about how Bon Jovi and the US Navy captured Enigma during WW2, or any action film from the mid 80's.)

I want to see this but I keep putting it off. I was all set to go about a month ago and at the last minute, I decided to buy a ticket for Zero Dark Thirty instead. That was a great film. I want to see Argo still, and I'm dying to see how they portray Jack Kirby's contribution of concept art to the fake movie.......Comment
