I had a friend who had a Green Machine. That thing was awesome. I kind of wanted one, but with a pedal Batmobile, Batcyle and a Big Wheel (and later an Eve Kneivel chopper), I couldn't complain much.
I think you were issued one if you lived in the suburbs. wed used to find the biggist hill we could and than lift our legs up onto the handle bars and ride.....they tended to wear out pretty quick that way
Man I loved my Big Wheels!!!! I went thru 2 of them, rode the heck out of them, jumps and skid outs. Those were the days my friends, those were te days!
I never had a Big Wheel, sadly. Just a couple of lame tricycles and a couple of pedal cars.
I also never had a Green Machine, but I bought my son one a few years back, and enjoyed watching him have fun.
I had a Green Machine--I was on a Green Arrow kick (I got a Mego GA around the same time), and I though the Green Machine was a good vehicle for crime-fighting. No place to stash my cheap plastic bow, though.

I beat the daylights out of mine.My grandparent would go camping at this one campground called housatonic meadows in cornwall ct. I would always bring my big wheel and go all over the campground in it. I'll have to ask my parents if they have any pictures.
