Me too. I went to Advanced Search and saw that I can search on 'all words' or 'exact words (Greg Brady flashback).' I guess they've changed logic?

They ought to offer a subscription for more accurate search results.

Yesterday, after my first post in this thread, I did a search on Ebay, and wanted to search the auction content and not just the auctions title. That option doesn't seem to be available any longer.

Am I incorrect? Please, let me know if I am. I like(d) to use that feature in some of my searches.

I figured it out. You can still choose that option, although, now, you have to click on advanced and check it off in another screen.

No, they're trying to be uber-helpful, like Google. It's friggin' annoying. And sometimes when I'm typing in the search field, it mysteriously starts backing up and retyping something utterly different. I'm like what the?

When other things come up they ebay thinks is 'like' the item I'm searching for, if you just put " around the single word (like you would multiple words), it seems to knock it off. Like searching "mego" will take out all those ebay deduced like items, and only auctions that actually have mego in the title will appear.

eBay has gotten terrible in the last year or so. They wrecked a ton of the search options and then kept updating the look to be different and more "user friendly" but it's a mess. Sadly, they're the big cheese and until someone comes along to even begin to rival theme, you have to learn to deal or deal without.

The latest quirk for me is the multiple eBay sites. I kid you not, eBay loads up differently for me every couple of days. One day it looks and works one way, the next day it's like a completely different place. One works fairly well, the other is a nightmare. They even give different search results. It's just bizarre.

Weird thing I noticed. Half.com doesn't take Paypal. It's all the same company and they won't even take their own payment system? That doesn't sound like a good sign to me.

Yeah this drives me friggin nuts. When I type in that search bar it will go back and erase letters or words that I typed and replace it with other crap. Its like its trying to tell me what I'm looking for instead of me telling it! It seems like they're trying to design their system to be "easy" so beginners can use it. In the process they have totally screwed up the search function for many categories. I say let the beginners learn the way I did....trial and error....and stop screwing over the long time customer.

They need to have a Fisher-Price version available to new people and a ninja version for ebay experts. I hate that it takes going into other sections now to modify the searches, and I still hate their stupid category changes. It's a full time job just to try to search for stuff I'm interested in on ebay now.

The handheld app universe has pushed the desktop program universe and that won't ever reverse. I find that the more I use my smartphone, the more everything on the web and on my desktop is just barely catching up.

I thought it was just me. My searches are all screwed-up. I have noticed that if I go into the 'View similar items' section after an auction I am watching is completed, things will pop up that should be coming up in my searches but don't. Sometimes I'll do a search, add one filter word, and it will take my results to practically nothing when it shouldn't. It's driving me crazy.

In my opinion this is what happens when corporations get too big for their own good. All these departments of employees who need to do something to justify their jobs. So they continually tinker and change stuff even when there is no need. I have seen this from eBay since they sent public.
