Anyone collecting these pieces? I have a bunch of the figures, but am struggling to find a Batgirl. I have a few pieces to trade, but haven't really heard anyone else collecting these guys. The set looks pretty sweet, cant wait to see it complete.

I was thinking of collecting the set, but some of the paint jobs on the pieces looked a little shoddy, plus the overall price of the completed set would be high.
I guess that's the inherent trouble with partworks collections... like the cool Batmobile one:

THey have come up with three batman (King) pieces with out completing the set. I'm too invested in it to quit now. Most pieces run about 16.00 each. The January piece is Bats ontop of the Bat signal. I think the Bat Signal would have made a nice Castle. I agree about the paint jobs, but the the overall coolness is unavoidable. ......If I can collect the set. Im thinking it will be a little difficult to play with due to each piece being unique on both sides of the board. tuff to remember which piece makes what move. I'm a little surprised you an I are the only ones thinking about collecting this set...seems right up our alley. (shrug)Comment

I found them searching ebay for anything Nightwing, and bought him...then I realized it was a whole chess set being leaked out two pieces a month. Then I found some more at my local comic book store.Comment

I'm not sure about the distribution in the USA, but here in the UK the set is available at larger magazine stores and news vendors, and of course comics specialty outlets (the same places that stock the Eaglemoss Marvel & DC figurine collections).
There's a link on the website that supposedly lets you locate your nearest stockist in both the UK and US:
As they're calling it the "DC Chess Collection", it's a safe bet to assume they'll follow up the Batman set with a Superman one, and maybe even a GL one after that.
The Batmobile collection is produced by the same company... it looks damn cool, but I'd probably only pick up the ones based on the comic versions.
