Sugar is the first step, if you choose to take additional ones. I also have converted to whole wheat with very limited white bread, no pasta, no white rice. I occasionally will have a potato product, but that's limited too. All of those foods convert into sugar in the bloodstream. Whole wheat pasta is largely terrible unless you use alfredo sauce. Red sauce and wheat pasta is nasty, so I pretty much avoid noodles. I don't even have an interest in sugar free deserts.

You eventually get to the point where you don't even think about it anymore. After what I just discovered I cannot really be tempted again.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

        Well done, Scott.

I take it you've always eliminated or limited your alcohol intake as well? Is there an exercise regimen in your daily life as well?
I heard also going gluten free helps with the diabetes as does delving more into a raw foods diet, which can be difficult. Also heard a way to curb the sweet intake is to add cinnamon to your foods which does assist in regulating your glycemic index.

Highly refined sugars do not have a place in my body, learned it the hard way even though there is no history of it in my family. Stress is what exacerbated and brought on my condition. Killing my immune system and raising my white blood cell count. Yoga and meditation certainly helps in that arena.

Keep up the good work. Good to have goals!
