I'm recording this tonite. But New Year's Eve will never be the same. RIP Dick. You will always be the KING of New Year's Eve!
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

No love for Dick Clark? I hope you guys watched. I noticed how sad Ryan Seacrest was w/o Dick tonite. I share his sadness...it just wasn't the same! Happy New Year.

I think the lack of replies was becuase we were all watching. Since he passed I feared I couldnt enjoy new years at home without him. It was hard
I had no memory of a new years before NYRE.

I wathced every moment and at times was choked up looking at the footage of Dick in prior years and I felt a little lost when the ball was dropping and he wasn't there. But in a way he was. I think that the tributes were really nice and Bloomberg put it well. Dick Clark brought the pagentry and joy of new years into every living room of people who can't or don't go party somewhere.

As a kid in the 70's staying up to watch it was a highlight of the year, and this year I got to pass that on to my daughter. Dick is gone but for me I was lucky enough to spend more than a few of the last 41 years with him on new years in my living room, and he will be alive in our hearts each new years for many to come

Thought it was a great tribute, loved seeing those American Bandstand clips.

I thought it would have been better to see it hosted by some of those music acts that owed something to him, instead of the extremely FAKE Fergie. Anyone notice how she acted so "elegantly bland" as my wife put it while (obviously) reading her intros during the Dick Clark show, then when the New Year's show came on she was all hip & urban yo! acting. And yes, Jenny is so hot & cute, but she is too over the top trying to be funny. Ryan Seacrest is gracious & proper, he has the host part down pretty good, not too hip but still popular for the kids. Does he just inherit every show now that loses it's longtime host? First American Top 40, now this? How did he miss out on replacing Regis?
