    Sunday morning, 70s style!

    Hi everybody,

I was just watching some clips of the stuff I used to watch on Sunday mornings when I was a kid. Davey & Goliath, Hot Fudge Show, Wonderama. (sadly, Wonderama was on when I was in Sunday School, so I didn't watch it a lot). I was actually on Wonderama once, but I can never find clips w/ me in them!

So what did you watch on Sunday mornings when you were a kid?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Seems like there was always one of those old black & white Tarzan movies on our TV on Sunday mornings. There were a number of different actors on those, I don't remember them all, but I did like Johnny Weismiller as Tarzan. Good stuff!

I remember waking up on Sunday mornings and always watching old STAR TREK episodes with my brother whilst consuming voluminous amounts of either pancakes or french toast. Ah-----for the good old days!!!!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

One no one seems to remember but I verified it exists on YouTube. Pretty sure it was Sundays in my area.

Aside from church, re-runs of Gunsmoke & the Waltons. I don't recall children's programming here on Sundays--but Dad had the set then. I ruled on Saturdays ;-)
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Old Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, & Mighty Mouse cartoons.

Abbott & Costello films, then Tarzan films on WPIX-11, my grandfather watched those every Sunday.

Later on I used to sneak out of Sunday school to watch F-Troop reruns, me & my friend the preacher's son.

I don't recall any cartoons or good shows on Sunday. It was always tele-evangilists. Hated Sundays. Still do.

What episode of Wonderama were you on ? I was on in April 1977, the guests were Jose Feliciano and the Jacksons( who had just changed thier name from the Jackson 5). there is a very poor quaiity clip of the Jacksons portion on YouTube, lip syncing Enjoy Yourself. I wish the quality was beter because I know I am in the background.

Really? That's cool! The only guest I can remember is some nutty guy called The Professor, (I think). I believe it was some time in 1974/75. I was 8 or 9. I know there's a close-up of me during the Disco portion. I believe I was wearing a red smock top w/ a blue turtleneck underneath. I really wish I could find that footage.

Yeah, I used to watch Marlo. I both hated & loved it at the same time. It's interesting - that's a show I'd never watch as a kid today, because there'd always be something on that I preferred. I seem to recall that Marlo was the only kid show on during that slot. In retrospect, I guess I'm kind of glad.

I always slept late on Sundays. Figured I was up early Monday-Saturday.
