Snow Day!!!

Woke up to 4 to 6 inches of snow today. Made snow cream and went out with the kids. Unfortunately, we don't have an really big hills, but we do have a few decent banks to sled down. Made a snow man, and then both my 11 year old and 5 year old decided it was too cold and had to go in. My mother had to DRAG me in for lunch and supper back in the day. Other than that, on a day like today, I was at it all day. Of course I had a killer playground with a near-Olympic level slope.

But either way, today's kids are soft! It's not even that cold! Right at 30 degrees. Perfect weather for snow play!!!

My mom would never let me go out when schools were closed for a snow day. "If the weather's too bad for school, then you shouldn't be outside." *sigh* However, I really did enjoy the snow as a kid. But for NYC kids it was different. The cleanest snow you could play w/ was what fell on the cars. The rest was dirty and slushy. It wasn't too bad at school until a million kids started walking on it. And to this day, I've never made a snowman.

I don't hardly ever remember school being closed when we were little. Heck now days around here if they even mention "snow" they shut it down for days.
Glad you had fun with the kids outside,and your right, we could be shivering and turned blue and still outside in the snow forts or sledding. But then again we didn't have computer games and good cable
Be careful if you have to drive anywhere in that mess.

It just started snowing here in NYC. We are going to get up to 4 inches in my section.
