Its a white out out there

Okay so I heard on the radio a snow storm was suppose to hit today. I drag out the ladders and boxes and take down all the decorations. I just finished putting up the snow fences when it starts. I was late getting them up hoping I wouldn't need them this year. Its coming down so hard its almost a whiteout. Man I hate Ohio winters!

The reason you can't see much in the pic is BECAUSE THE SNOW IS IN THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a little disappointed. We were supposed to see some snow, but the storm went just south of us by about ten miles and we got nothin. We do have a beautiful sunny day now to play outside in. Thankful for that.

Well, all we have in Oakland is rain. Not raining at this very moment, but I think it's gonna start again. Last night it was raining so hard, that the rain falling on my skylight was louder than my TV!

I hear ya,i hate Illinois winters. We got nailed with our first winter storm last week.It started Wednesday with rain all day, then Thursday morning the rain changed to ice for about an hour, then snow with 50 mph winds.I left work early so i wouldn't be fighting the dark along with the whiteout conditions. The drive home was one of the scariest in quite awhile.Ten miles of open terrain roads that were ice/snowpacked with whiteout conditions in a 2 wheel drive drive Hombre with bad tires. I was doing ok until i approached "deadmans curve",then the real fun started. An S turn which curves uphill and is banked and also passes under an an Interstate bridge and another bridge which passes over railroad tracks 3/4 of the way up the hill. There was two cars in the ditch on both sides of the road at the bottom and two trucks stopped in my lane to help them. I had to go around them and start up the hill with some dude in a 4 wheeler right on my butt.As i'm slipsliding up the hill, there is another truck that has slid into the guardrail halfway up and is blocking the lane.As i'm trying to pass him,i start fishtailing and sliding towards him.I barely miss him and continue creeping up the hill. Then comes the railroad bridge which is a sheet of ice and i start sliding toward the bridge rail.I finally made it up the hill and started down and up another set of hills.I turn left at the top, only one more ice covered hill to go down.It took me a little over an hour to drive that 10 miles so i averaged less than 10 mph, lol. I hate winters with icey and snowcovered roads.

We got a perfect amount of snow for Christmas morning here in southern Ontario. Expecting to get 10 to 20 cm over the next couple of days though.

We dodged the bullet here in North Central Arkansas but the central part of the state got hammered. And while I didn't get the snow I think I am coming down with the flu or some reasonable facsimile.
