My best friend picked up the EMCE Bride and the Creature for me, and I got the BBP Doctor Who for Christmas.

Well, last Christmas I only sent two cards, one for an elder professor, and one for a friend. And that was it. No presents, although I must admit that if the date I had the Saturday night before Christmas would have ended in something better, I would have got something really really nice for the lady. Well, she still gave me the heaviest Christmas gift I got: a good old fashion heart-break.

Still, without knowing it, I happened to get some really sweet stuff last Christmas:

    - from my cousin I got a 12-DVD boxset of the first season of LAND OF THE GIANTS (1968-1969)
    - from a friend in New Zealand I got a 1987 Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin RC monster truck. After hearing I had to sell mine, he got it for me because it was my first hobby-grade RC car ever.
    - from a friend I got one DVD: BEE GEES In Our Own Time.
    - from a student I got a rather bizarre Tank made with real bullet caskets. Whatever she was thinking when giving this to me is beyond my mind.
    - And as a present to myself I got me a 1978 promotional poster for a B.T.O. LP. I'm still waiting for it to arrive, though.

    Some random pics below...

Glad to hear that Santa brought you improvements in the family health matters, RA! And it's always good to have new underwear---especially the good stuff!!!!

Most of my Christmas gifts I bought myself and actually sold off to the people giving them to me. Small stuff mostly like DVD's etc. I don't really need anything but I love to shop on Black Friday so I stock up on stuff and people just buy them from my wife. She collects the money and deposits it in the bank. I pay the credit card bill and whatever's there is bonus. I know what's coming but not who from so there's a little surprise there. Plus I never have to return anything.

The wife and I decided to buy each other Galaxy tabs so while I got a bunch of Bluray DVD's and stuff like that, I only got a couple of things that I didn't know were coming. Daughter bought me some really cool T's Star Wars and DC related and my son bought me the Ultimate Mel brooks collection on Blu-Ray. 10 movies, a couple of them I didn't have and one I had never even heard of. Awesome set and I guess my kids know me well. One day we'll get snow and I'll sit in and watch them all. Not sure if I can handle Blazing Saddles, Spaceballs, and History of the World, back to back to back.

Best gift was spending Christmas with the family. Now that the boys have gotten their own homes getting everyone together means even more. They're not far away, and we see them every couple of days, but we're not all, always in the same place at the same time like we used to be.

One of the fav things I got is the Shout Factory Jem complete series DVD box set. Huzzah!! Pizzazz has green hair again. When Rhino released Jem on DVD in 2004 they "digitally enhanced" her bright lime green hair to a dull yellowish brown.
