Question for Beatles people (about a weird collectible)

    Hi Guys,

    First, sorry no pictures

Just had a 70's Christmas flashback.

Back in the later 70's my mom bought me a Beatles wall clock for Christmas.

She ordered it out of the Aldens catalog.

It was a rectangular shape about 1 ft x 2 ft (maybe even bigger)

It was the Rubber Soul album cover but the picture was done in only brown and beige.

The cheap battery operated clock was where the Rubber Soul letters should have been.

The frame was stained wood and deep (to allow for the clock battery and mechanism)

The main picture area looked to be made of cheap thin masonite.

    -----

The clock is long gone today but i've been searching for any info on it.

    I keep coming up ziltch

I figure it must have been licensed because it was sold in a major mail-away catalog.

Any of you Beatles people ever heard of this clock ?

    Did I have something crazy-rare ?

Or was it probably a bootleg item ?

    Thanks

Sounds like it was unauthorized. You see a lot of Beatles and Elvis stuff like that that aren't official.

Most catalogs from the 70's are scanned online. A quick glance showed me '72 Aldens Christmas catalog and '78. I would page through those scans and see if you don't come across it. That might give you the details you're looking for.

I agree and much bootleg product surfaced in the 70's and early 80's for Beatles product since no one was paying anymore attention to the Beatles merch copyright infringement.
