    Pets VS the Christmas tree

We have to set up our tree in the family room to atleast try to keep it intact. If its flashy or shiney the cats love it. Any problems with anyone elses pets with their trees?

No problems like that (as far as I can remember anyway), but, when I would get a real tree, they (my cats) would like to:

    1. Chew on the bristles almost everyday the tree is up.

    2. Lay on blanket surrounding the trees base.

    3. Drink the water where the trunk goes.

Nothing too bad, but it gets annoying after 3 weeks.

We have 2 cats and i swear one of them likes to think he is an ornament. Little bugger loves that tree.

My older cat has never touched the tree. The younger one left it alone for the first two holiday seasons of his life, but is absolutely enamored with it this year. I LOVE vintage ornaments, and it's like that little bugger can tell which ones are old, and he only bats at those. I put up my vintage aluminum in the bed room because that is a cat-free zone in our house. The Ever Gleam seems to emit a signal that only cats can hear calling them to destroy it.

When i had Cats I always found my Tree on the floor every morning. I eventually had to tie the tree with hooks to the wall.....but every morning I was greeted with a meow from the tree.....lol I have no Cats now so I kinda miss it .....lol

From a cats point of view a Christmas tree is the ultimate cat-toy

There's really nothing you can do short of keeping the tree in a room where the cat's not allowed (bedroom etc)

With two dog dogs in the house, I have one basic rule: don't let your balls dangle too low. I mean the ornaments, of course...
My big dog swats everything with her tail like she's Tiger Woods...
                .
                .
                .

When my ex and I had cats, we couldn't have tinsel, (they'd swallow it), and we had to keep the ornaments off the lower branches. We didn't have any breakable ornaments, so they couldn't destroy them. They were locked in the pantry at night so nothing happened while we were asleep. They never really jumped in the tree, just batted at the lower branches.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

My cat hides under the tree and waits . . . then when someone walks by, she jumps out and grabs their feet. Crazy little carnivore is hunting us.

My cat loves the tree. Waits till we go to bed than swats at the ornaments to make the fall.
