Ok you science guys...I wasn't sure where to put this thread because it's regarding a Mego toy with magnetic joints, but I'll just try here. I recently received a magnetic figure and one of the joints doesn't seem to have a strong magnet, the arm sort of flops around in the socket. I've done some research (ie. I farted around on google a little bit) and it looks like the easiest way would be to place a strong magnet near the toy's magnet and the electrons should "realign" themselves, resulting in a stronger magnet joint. Would this work and if so, how well? How long should I place the magnets in close proximity to each other? Is there any better way to strengthen a magnet like this? Help!

Often, a partially demagnetized magnet can be re-magnetized by rubbing it repeatedly with another magnet.
If you can't easily get access to the magnet to rub it because it's in the figure's joint, I guess the method you mentioned of placing another one near it would be the next best thing.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

I know a guy called Eric Lehnsherr who can help you with that..

It might be cheaper to make a DYI electro-magnet instead of trying to buy a really powerful one. I'm not totally sure though.
