HOTTEST TOYS FOR CHRISTMAS...1981 news report

That was cool. Thank you for posting. I miss KB too. I remember those Star Wars and Strawberry Shortcake toys.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

KB was like a Clearance story here ..., always 2 for, or 3 for ....
... They still have an online store, with etoys, and to Auctions on Ebay.

KBs was good for finding rare stuff because nobody wanted to pay their prices.

That was great. Funny to hear them talk about the "old Star Wars craze" back in 1981.

yeah, KB was expensive until they put things on clearance then you could get stuff really cheap. I loved the KB Toybox stores where they sent all the clearance inventory to move. used to frequent those

^Yeah we had a "Toy Liquidators" which was just a Kay-Bee clearance store. It was right by a movie theater too. Loved to go see a movie and then check out what good stuff had been dumped there, finally at a decent price.

Maybe if Kay-Bee didn't slavishly follow that model they'd still be in brick-n-mortar business today.

Thanks for sharing the video. And no offense to the time-honored Teddy Bear, but who would have been ticked to have found that under your tree instead of Dukes of Hazzard or Pac-Man in 1981?

I think being a mall store made them have to have higher prices. The rent is probably more expensive; at least the one near me is.

1981 was a great mix of fun toys.

Oh my! WNEP is our local ABC station too! Small world. I use to go to the Wilkes-Barre KB but very seldom Frackville.

I miss KB so much. It usually had the harder to find items probably since they were more expensive. If there is one store I could bring back, KB would be near the top of the list.
