Looking for a replacement for Hostess Fruit Pies? DON'T EAT THESE!

Whatever you do, DO NOT eat Mrs. Freshley's brand of fruit pies.

I tried one the other day, and HOLY MACKEREL, it was awful!!

The crust was too thick, hard as a rock, and tasted like sugar covered cardboard.

The fruit filling was mostly a thick, gooey jelly type, with almost NO real fruit in it.

I even doubt that microwaving it to steam it would improve the taste of it.

I give it a big YUCK!

I never heard of them , what store did you find them in? I think it'll be hard to find something as good as a Hostess fruit pie. I tried a pie from Aldi the other day, and it was pretty nasty!

I've been eating the dollar general brand. They seem o.k. to me, dont know if thats a great replacement though.

I think Mrs. Freshleys is an East Coast thing. I find that Mrs. Freshley is far from any kind of fresh taste at all
          It's all good!
