I got something one year...I think it was a cheap computer tower back in the late 90s...it was the last one in stock. A couple followed me throughout the store. I think if I'd taken my hand off that cart for a millisecond...they would have grabbed it.

Cindy had a lady try and snatch the walking RC Iron Man out of her cart at TRU a few years back when it was hot...and this WASN'T on Black Friday. Now those things are still choking up clearance aisles!

It's too crazy for me to even attempt. Nothing out there I saw in the "leaked" ads that was worth getting off the couch Thanksgiving night or getting up at 3 am for, at least nothing I wouldn't gladly just pay the extra 10 bucks for next week. I did notice that there were quite a few items marked in-store only, I guess to keep people from buying online & staying home. If we all just stayed home, then all the free advertising the news stations are giving the stores would disappear.

Exactly. The roads are heavy and the stores will be packed with angry aggressive shoppers. It isnt worth it. I dont think the deals are really the deals they use to be. Some places mark up and then mark back down for special occasions.

I find the whole Black Friday issue completely disruptive to the Thanksgiving holiday, which is SUPPOSED to be about spending time with family and friends, being thankful for them and for the fact that you live in a free country. When I heard that stores were opening up at midnight and now even 10 and 8, it just made me feel even more irritated with the whole thing. They ran two editorials in my local newspaper yesterday decrying retailers for not only opening earlier and earlier, but also for ramping up the hype earlier and earlier. I don't mind a good bargain (even though most of the stuff of BF is so overpriced to begin with that they're only giving you the illusion of a "sale" price) and I don't blame the retailers for wanting to get a piece of the pie, but I would personally love to see it go back to the common sense days of stores opening early ONLY on the Friday after Thanksgiving and then at a reasonable hour (I think 8:00 would be fine). Cutting into people's Thanksgiving celebrations and making people work on Thanksgiving just seems-----unAmerican, IMHO...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I FeLL into the hype. Sam's club was selling a 65" Vizio smart TV for 998.00 last night at 10pm. I joined for 40.00 and at 959pm I satrt refreshing that browser. I clicked on it at 10pm, and went to cart and then it just did the wait circle. It said that the broswer was busy and finally said nothing was in mt cart. I start over annnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddd it was sold out. I live 60 miles from a sam's I'm going to insist that they end the membership and give me back my 40.00.

I'll be fighting a large crowd tomorrow, but my Black Friday tradition is tailgating at the Arkansas-LSU football game. The Razorbacks suck this year, but the pre-game party with family and friends is always a winner. For the first time in 20 years, the game's on campus in Fayetteville rather than in Little Rock or Baton Rouge. I'm thankful I'm not driving to the game site today.

Hopefully we'll have our new head coach by Sunday or early next week.

Save yourself the hassle.I seen the same Dewalt drill,2 batteries and charger on Ebay for 115.00 shipped so by the time you add taxes to McLendons deal its really not that great.

I think it's getting ridiculous, especially now that stores are opening on Thanksgiving evening. I wouldn't set foot inside a store tomorrow. On the other hand, I'm all for online sales, I already spent over $100 yesterday and today on cheap movies and TV shows at Amazon and will probably get more tomorrow and on Cyber Monday.
