Frank Zappa, Love him or hate him.

I think the guy was genius, although I don't like everything.

Think about this, how many people have Les Paul specifically built guitars for, not to mention the added his mustache to it

I like a few things--Hot Rats is pretty good. I'm a WAY bigger Captain Beefheart fan.

I've only had a few of his albums (Hot Rats, Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch, Jazz from Hell) and it's really hit or miss with me. I didn't care for the synclavier stuff so much--it came off kind of sterile to me, in comparison to his guitar stuff. I own nothing of his now, but wouldn't mind picking up Chunga's Revenge at some point.

I used to have a DJ copy of Chunga's Revenge LP

Sold it for $20.00 --- not sure if I got ripped off

Me too. I remember the first time I heard Beefheart I was immediately mind blown. I've never been able to connect with Zappa's stuff like that.

Personality-wise I kinda like Zappa. Maybe I'll check out "Hot Rats".

I regard Zappa very highly...up there with Jerry Garcia for sure...both musical geniuses who were not exactly commercial...but were much more than that.
