Do you get a turkey from work?

We use to every year get frozen turkeys, then they switched to just giving out 25 dollar gift cards, which was easier for them and better for the people that didn't want a great big bird. Well we've been bought , and merged a couple times over the last several years and it looks like the tradition the first new owners started will continue with these ones. We get nothing. Closed out the books at the end of October, yeah they're odd like that. Had 6.6 million in profit, best of any other division of the company, and we still get nothing. And if Christmas is gonna be like last year, it'll be a goose egg for it too.
Happy to be working and have a job that you like, but it seems anymore that they treat you like just another warm body no matter how good you do.

When I worked in Manhattan we got a Turkey every year on Thanksgiving. One year one of the guys I worked with put his on the roof of the building so it would keep cold all day while he worked. He forgot about it. Totally. We found it in April after the building started to smell like a garbage dump. Classic.

When I worked for a pre-school in the 80s, it was connected to a church and they gave out food boxes. Sometimes there would be some left and the pre-school workers got to take them home. It would have a small turkey, a box of stuffing, and veggies. I got one a couple of times.

We get jack spit for Thanksgiving. Usually get a Christmas bonus though.

We received a Thanksgiving bonus this year, instead of opening at 5am we get to open at midnight for the first time in company history.

We got next to nothing. Around Christmas they give us bottles of wine cheap wine and usually a cookout one day for lunch. That's it.

Thats what I mean, places just seem to care about the workforce.

Kinda. We got a $25 Gift Card for Ralphs Grocery Store. That'll get you a turkey..........or some Bombay Sapphire Gin.

When I worked at a home hardware in Bc the owners gave us a turkey and ham plus x-mas bonus equal to your holiday pay.
Working now at the city we just get the day off with pay,not bad I guess it could be worse.No wait,I work in the sewer I don't think it could get worse...LOL
