Watch out Smith, here comes Kaepernick...

The Niners are manhandling the Bears right now...and Kaepernick is on fire.

Campbell just sucks, ask the Raiders...I think Niners got this.

    You hearing this, Smith?

I know, Cutler is the Bears' lifeline for sure.

Campbell should be washing my car...not playing quarterback, lol.

Kaepernick already has over 180 yards passing in the 2nd quarter. He's making a good showing.

He was one of my favorite draft picks from that draft. I thought he should have gone higher, but it was cool to see the Niners grab him up. Much like Andy Dalton, they slipped down a bit in value for no reason. Gabbert, Locker, Ponder all went ahead of those two. I'm wrong as much as I'm right with players, but I had Dalton as the second best QB in the draft after seeing him rip Wisconsin in the whatever bowl. I thought Colin had the stuff too, and maybe I'm right. It's just one game...

I was thinking the same thing Hector, but then I remembered Matt Flynn, aka Scott Mitchell 2.0. Kaepernick sure looks good tonight though. I can see why people might think he has a higher ceiling than Smith, but OTOH I've always thought Smith could be a good QB too.

I'm a Browns fan, I look at all these debates through the eyes of one with no hope.

Matt Flynn hasn't even had a chance to start this year. No one knows who he'd be like. The only reason he hasn't started for Seattle is because Pete Carroll has a hard on for his own ego.

I thought it was because he couldn't beat out a rookie in training camp:-) If you like Flynn, swap in Kevin Kolb.

I still can't believe how quickly Harbaugh committed to staying with the "hot hand" and jumping into a full-blown quarterback controversy. But even if Smith had won the Super Bowl last year I think the fans in SF would still be jumping at the chance to jump off his ship. He's just not very accurate and it always seems miraculous if he hits a receiver downfield. That guy was throwing ropes last night.

Well, if you lived in Seattle you'd know the "competition" (and I use that word loosely) was stacked against Flynn the moment Russell Wilson was drafted. Pete Carroll has an ego the size of Texas and there was no way in h e l l Flynn was going to win the job, let alone be given a real chance. Wilson is his pet project.
