I don't. Devil Dogs are dry as sawdust to me.

I love Hostess Cupcakes, but the only pies I liked were lemon, cherry, blueberry and blackberry.

NONE of which I can find up here in the Bronx, for love or money.

I can usually get Little Debbies, but their cupcakes taste terrible, even after refrigeration. I mostly stick to the lemon and cherry pies.

This is a sad, sad day for us Boomers.

True reason why they closed:Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America

"Only Silver Point and Monarch could have kept Hostess out of liquidation and kept the Twinkie bakery ovens firing. But they were, ultimately, unable to reach a deal with the unions that represents the workers who make and deliver products like Twinkies, Wonderbread and Ding Dongs. Without large union concessions—what some would say, total union capitulation—the hedge funds decided Hostess would have to die."

I'm reading from feeds that the top brands will be bought up and distributed by (an)other manufacturer(s). So there is hope on that end of the spectrum. Just hope the employees can find new jobs. Sad day indeed.

I don't think I ever ate those. My faves were Devil Dogs though. My older brother and I would always fight for the last one in the fridge. Cold Devil Dogs....YUM!

Yeah, I'll miss the orange cupcakes and the Sno-balls the most. Truthfully, none of them had the same taste as when I was a kid. I have a feeling that 40 years ago there were different ingredients than now.

Drakes to me also changed flavor when Hostess bought them out.
                  It's all good!

No trans-fat anymore. I think that's what gave them their moist, chocolatey flavor. Bad for you, but oh, so good!

BTW, most insiders say Hostess products are too iconic to be lost forever...some other company will pick up those products (I predict Grupo Bimbo)...and Twinkies and Ding Dongs will be back on shelves in the near future.

Who cares about Hostess products anyway, when I have all these yummy places to go to...

I go to Love at First Bite because it's great, and one of the ones closest to home...they are out of this world...

Berkeley's longtime favorite for cupcakes and cakes made with love and other fine ingredients offers delivery, gift cards, and in-shop sales. Love at First Bite is located in the Walnut Square Shopping Center at 1510 Walnut St. Suite G, Berkeley, California.

Whole Foods cupcakes are pretty good too.

I think that was a given. It just won't be Hostess sharing the spot anymore. I fully expect Twinkies and many of the other high profile name brands to live on.
