I had their apple pie about two years ago,man did that taste horrible. The only one that's still halfway decent is their strawberry pie. -
We have Little Debbie, sure, but the West Coast doesn't have Drakes Cakes. I miss those too...Devil Dogs, Ring Dings, Yodels...I'm glad we got to experience all the good stuff when we were kids!Leave a comment:

A couple weeks ago, I saw some Hostess Pudding Pies in the store. My brothers were big fans of them in the 80s, so I bought these up and mailed them off. I treated myself to a Hostess Cherry Pie at the same time. After eating it, I remembered why I hadn't eaten one since about 1987 or so.
Still, I occasionally kept a stash of Twinkies, Ding Dongs, Ho-Hos, and Cupcakes around the house for my daughter and I to binge on (my wife won't touch them). I'm sad to see them go, but know they'll be back in the markets again before you know it. Somebody will buy the company. The products won't taste the same, and won't feel the same, but they'll be back. In the meanwhile, I guess I'll have to rekindle my illicit affair with Little Debbie and her subpar versions of the same stuff.Leave a comment:

I believe Drake's is under the Hostess brand...
Rayburn said he's hopeful that the company will find buyers for its roster of about 30 brands, which include Ho Hos, Dolly Madison, Drake's and Nature's Pride snacks.Leave a comment:

Our local stores only sell Hostess and Little Debbie. When I got groceries yesterday, the Hostess section was almost completely empty.Leave a comment:

Sad day. But just watch, those products and their brands will return. Their too famous for someone NOT to snatch up.

Everyone looks like they are waving goodbye except for Twinkie the Kid. He's saying, "*** Pardner?"Leave a comment:
