Anyone know of a good deal on Ipad 2's for this holiday season?

My wife is wanting one for Christmas so I'm looking around trying to find a good deal or even a Black Friday deal worth standing in line for. Can any of you tech savvy folks point me in a good direction or even offer some feedback on this product? I just want to make sure when I plunk down the cash she gets a good one. Thanks!

I dont believe apple does sales on their products. I know someone that lost their job by accidentally dicounting an apple product. I love my new 10.1 inch Coby tablet and I can take things from my computer via sd card and put them on it. I don't have to buy every book movie or music I wanna use. Just a thought.

Your best bet for a bargain would be buying a refurbished one direct from Apple's web site. They constantly change their stock, so you just have to keep checking back periodically. Retailers typically don't discount Apple products much; the closest you'll get is the occasional "buy this Apple, get a gift card" deal.

You could also try looking at bfads.net, which is a web site that compiles the Black Friday deals.

If size is not an issue, the iPad mini is equivalent to an iPad 2 and a bit less. $329 , I think, for the cheapest model.

I do a lot of work with apple for my job, so can verify e don't usually do discounts, unless a) your company has a deal (and that's probably a 2-4% deal) or b) you have a friend who is an apple employee and can buy it for you using their discount. This can be more of a price break.

Apple Educational Discount… best applied if you have a nearby College or University bookstore that's an Authorized Apple Reseller. Some have the ability to discount deeper than anyone when combining the standard AED with their discretion to apply sales or closeout pricing. BTW, this also works nicely with peer to peer Gov't or Corp sales. If you have a relationship with an AED partner you'll likely get the best pricing possible.

I think I heard that Walmart was having a Black Friday deal on the iPad 2 and as long as you were in line, you got the deal, even if they ran out of stock.

I don't think they give any educational discount on iPads. At least not single units. Maybe volume discounts to schools. They do give very nice edu discounts on computers.

Ok, Walmart is offering the iPad 2 at the normal price. However, you get a $75 gift card with purchase. So, if you want to buy $75 worth of other stuff, you basically get $75 off the iPad

I have a Kyros MID8022 that I bought a little over a year ago. I love it for traveling but the one downside is that I can't update the Android OS. It came with 2.3 which was top of the line when I got it. I still use it for travel and it works great in airports and hotels but it is limited because of the dated OS. I only paid around $70 for it so I've gotten way more than my money's worth out of it. I'm thinking of looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab as a possibility. My wife has also been wanting a tablet. I know a few people that have the Asus and are very happy with it.

This is definitely the way to go, I saved a good chunk of change on a refurbished iPad2 last year, and couldn't be happier with it. I did some checking around at the time and found nothing but praise for Apple's refurbished products, they're as good as new, and Apple stands behind them 100%..

I got mine cheap because my cousin works at Bestbuy and he gave me a great deal on an open item..go to Bestbuy and ask for an open item one, they usually have..If someone buys it but then regrets it and takes back even the same day they can't sell it as new and will give you a great deal , trust me
