    Skyfall opening weekend

    Anyone going to this?

    Can Bond still be entertaining?

    Thoughts? Opinions anyone?

The reviews have been good, enough to make me curious and I haven't been to the movies in months...

    Let's hear it....

I really liked Casino Royale, but some how missed "Quantum" completely. So many I knew were disappointed after the great "Casino", I kept putting it on the back burner to see it.

"Skyfall" is kicking all kinds of arse overseas and has great buzz, so I may have to watch Quantum and go see this with the missus if we get a chance. She's always up for a Bond flick. Whatta gal!

          It's a great movie.
Everything you could want from a 007 film... action, hot women, cool villain, gadgets, awesome cars, etc.
And it sets up the future of the Bond franchise perfectly.

It's a new story, not based on any of the Fleming books.

It's really good. I hope they keep using A-list directors. The movie is visually stunning. I think it's my favorite Bond since the early 70's and I've aeen them all.

I've been excited about this one for a while...can Bond still be entertaining...hells yes. I know Connery IS James Bond but Daniel Craig makes every Bond movie look old and dated. There is a certain charm to Goldfinger and that's still the iconic 007 movie but Casino Royale is right there with it and despite a bad script in Quantum, Craig was still awesome in the film This is a new era for Bond and one that is going to set the standard for future Bonds.

I love the advertisement for this film because it's exactly the same as every other 007 ad campaign in the past. Every time they make a new one, the trailer always has the line "Best Bond Ever!" We'll what are they gonna say...Better than Quantum but falls short of Casino." Every new Bond is the best Bond until it comes out then we really get to see. I saw all the Brosnan ones opening week when they were new and was very excited for them. Each time I was promised "The Best Bond Ever" and each time I was lied to. Those movies ended up being so terrible (and long) I could even rewatch them today. The advertisements for the Craig films should be something like "Buy a ticket for this Bond movie and you'll get the whole movie seat but you're only gonna need the edge!" or something like that.

I had some reservations about Skyfall, as they were making the Bond films a little bit too down-to-earth for me. In Quantum, there was nothing special about the whole film, and I forgot most of it.

Skyfall, on the other hand, is bloody fantastic! From start to finish, it's Bond at his best. Great story, great acting (Bardem is very memorable and the first truly human opponent). I loved every minute.
It's been since 1977 (with Spy Who Loved Me) that I've added a Bond film to my favorites list, and Skyfall certainly has earned it.

Clem, I looked really hard for you in the Macau casino scene, but I missed you. You didn't get eaten by a Komodo Dragon, did you?
                Did you see Craig?

Just before he meets the body guards on the way out, i am seen standing on the left hand side having a chat and drink, no worries it was a mili-second of screen time. Bond was on set for all the 4 days that I worked and we got to see him fight the big guy over and over + the imaginary Komodo Dragons .. whoops spoiler.

You could still do convention signings.
I mean, the guy who played "the tail of Jabba the Hutt" did signings as well...

Were those Komodos real, or just added in CG?

Pretty much the whole time Bond moves around the casino, i am in the same position. So when Bond and Eve are on their way out to meet the body guards. You see me as pointed out in the yellow arrows in this promo pic.

Btw Berenice Marlohe is as hot in real life as she is on film, incredibly beautiful.
