Okay, Halloween decorations are down and away when will you put up the Christmas Tree.Ours will go up the week of Thanksgiving, we always have a fake one, safer for the cats.
This year it will probably go up around Dec. 21st - we always wait until a few days before BUT we leave it up until Jan. 6th. Remember, the 12 days of Christmas STARTS the day after Christmas and goes for 12 days, Jan.6th - also it's the octave / Epiphany of Christmas when the Catholic Church celebrates the arrival of the Wise Men.
Mine will go up the weekend after Thanksgiving and will come down after New Years. Sometimes we use a real tree and sometimes a fake one...not sure yet which way we will go this year.
Christmas Eve...or more accurately, the tree will probably be purchased the day before Christmas Eve, and decorated Christmas Eve. And will come down hopefully by the first week in January. (I'm always so sad to take it down).
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
Every year it's the same. The weekend of Thanksgiving. Of course we already have radio stations playing Christmas music 24/7 in Louisville the day after Halloween. I often wonder what these faithful listeners do for a hang over after Christmas?
we always have 2 trees. the one that Santa puts present under is in my man cave and that usually goes up a week or so before Thanksgiving....i know, I know, but I do it just to spread out the labor involved in putting up and decorating 2 trees. the rest of the Christmas decorations go up Thanksgiving weekend.
Mine goes up sometime the first week after Thanksgiving. It comes down first thing December 26th. I can't stand seeing Christmas decorations once Christmas is over......
We haven't had a tree up (or any decorations out) the last 4 years. Losing my job and having to move into a crowded apartment just sucked the holiday spirit right out of me. But this year with the job and new house I'm moving it up to the weekend of Thanksgiving. Usually it's the first weekend in December. But we are going to make up for lost time and are going all out this year. I can't wait.
