Hurricane Sandy affecting elections?

Not a political question here, but a practical one.
With all the damage done, I was wondering if the affected part of the country is ready for the coming elections?
How about the voting stations? Do you vote electronically? Will these work with the damage done to electrical cables and such?

In case it shuts down it goes back to Ballot strong box hand written voting....with a Government official handling the Box. from what I know it's a federal crime to tamper with the box.

I'm so glad Oregon is entirely vote-by-mail. Its so convenient. I look up the local candidates and ballot measures online and have all the time I want to make a decision.

I don't think it'll change anything. I know some people were wanting to push it back, but I don't see it happening. There have been reports of some of the electronic boxes not registering the proper votes--which is a pretty big deal--but from what I gather they can be recalibrated to work properly and had nothing to do with the storm, but inherent tech issues.

I don't see why they can't use the old voting booths if they have to.
