As a kid growing up in the 70's, I remember a certain MAGIC feeling around the holidays, and also birthdays. Especially Christmas (for those of us who celebrate Christmas) it was a really magical time for us. I wonder if kids today feel that same magic as we did back then, when things were alot different then they are today. Just curious. I know we are all adults now, and see things differently, but I wonder. I know many of you have kids of your own, and you may see and feel that magic, but I dont anymore, becasue I guess because I have no kids, and I am an adult now....

My 3 and 6 year olds feel the magic. Having kids really brings back the magic (I think its called innocence!) Watching my 6 year old this year relate to the marketing (I saw that on TV...) was fun if not a bit scarey!Too many toys. Not enough space! -
That magic feeling is still there for little kids, but they grow out of it faster nowadays. Most 7 year olds today don't believe in Santa, while we probably did up to 9 maybe even 10.Comment

Certainly the build up till christmas had an almost frustrating quality to it...some years I thought I would explode before christmas day was upon us...it usually started the last few weeks in school prior to school holidays then went into overdrive once school had finished and that last week up till christmas was unbearable...then you knew you had a couple of weeks after christmas to play to death with your new aquasitions. Christmas was barely mentioned until december in those days...now it seems shops are putting the christmas message out there as soon as summer is over...kids have it drummed into them so much so early that there is hardley any magic...sure my kids get excited but only in the last couple of days prior to christmas.ENGLISH AND DAMN PROUD OF ITBritish by birth....English by the grace of God.
Yes Jamie...it is big isn't it....

Yeah, it's a shame about that.Every year I have to have a talk w/ my kids about not ruining anyone's Christmas by telling them there isn't a Santa Claus.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
