what's the deal with store exclusive movies????

i have been noticing that certain stores get exclusive sales rights to some older movies just getting a blu ray release.....Target and Wal Mart to be specific.
I had picked up For a few Dollars More a few weeks back and noticed it was Target exclusive. now with the Bond movies getting the 50th anniversary release, a few of the movies are finally available on Blu Ray.....exclusive to either one of those stores, Goldeneye, Living Daylights, Octopussy, View to a Kill and Spy who Loved Me.. what a royal pain in the ***. the nearest Wally world for me is 45 minutes and these movies are not coming up on line for either store.

thanks for the opportunity to vent

I hear ya...my wife bought years 1-6 of the Harry Potter ultimate edition blu-rays, then WB announced a gigantic box set of all seven, but no single release ultimate edition of year 7.
Come to find out year 7 is at Target only and in limited quantities. They want you to rebuy everything in the big set.
Nice way to **** off everybody that already spent $300 for the other 6.

initally I was "waiting for the next format" and at this point I don't think there will be another format. The clould and streming are where things are heading. Until they've enough released classic who in a new format I won't upgrade, it's been 13 years and only now are we at the point where almost all the stuff released on VHS is out on dvd
