Ok, so I was really happy the otehr day when I found the Monster cereals at Walgreens. When I was buying them, they were still unpacking the Halloween stuff. Since I don't own a car, I "spot shop" there a lot. Well today, I was there picking up a few things, and I was really looking forward to seeing what cool Halloween items were out. One of my favorite things to do at this time of year is to go to Walgreens and activate any Halloween items that make sounds. Well guess what? Three...only 3 things there made any sounds. A Witch's Hat (in the Hallmark aisle), an owl, which you could barely hear, and a Medusa head that was pretty cool. But that's it. They don't have even close to the amount of Halloween things sset up as in previous years. Even some of the store staff was surprised. It's bad enough that Halloween isn't as fun as it was when we were kids, but now, I'm cheated out of one of the last fun things for Halloween as an adult. *pout* Has anyone else who lives near a Walgreens noticed this?

Walgreens cheated me out of one of my cheap Halloween thrills!

I noticed the same at ours, the selection they have out is alot less than in the past.I'm still holding holding out hope they will break out more stuff in another week. Did you notice they have more generic type candy than name brand. I saw 1 whole bin of nothing but popcorn balls. Really popcorn balls! -
Bummer, I haven't checked out my Walgreens yet but I'm glad I'm not the only one who sets off all the electronic on display in those stores.Comment

Since I don't give candy, I haven't noticed what the selection is. Trick or treaters that visit me will be treated to mini toys and spooky sounds CDs.

I don't know if it's just Walgreen's. I went looking for those black cloth gloves with the vinyl skeleton hands on top. I remember there was a variation in red years ago. Can't find them today. At 'Spirit Halloween Store' all they had was white. I bought a pair and tonight I compared them the the same style purchase a few years ago. These new ones are bad, the glove does not fit as well, and the vinyl top is thinner/stiffer and doesn't bend as well. Cheap!
I'm also sadden that the pleather superhero gloves were not available at 'Value Village', as they were last year.
Is it just me, or is the selection shinking? I'm not seeing as much new stuff this year and much as the missing stuff of last year.
As for the candy, I suspect there may be a trend to the 'decorated for Halloween' over the 'mini-size'. The big companies do some holiday molds, but not many. Others like 'Palmer', clean up two ways, decoration with price point. Years ago they had these 'Witch's Eyes' that were milk chocolate coated lime sugar slime. Loved them, have yet to see them again.
If it turns out to be Walgreen's fault, I won't be happy. They've messed with me before.Comment
