The only one that ever hit me was my mother, and then it wasn't a spanking. She whacked me either in the thigh or upper arm with a ruler.
None of my teachers ever hit me, or any of the other kids and there were times when the little beasts deserved it!
They got hit by the principal instead.
He never laid a hand on me though.
I was a weird kid; I used to hang out in his office for hours, trying to make sense of my math homework after lunch. The teacher knew where I was, and so did my mother (she worked at my elementary school, and I couldn't get away with a THING!), if one of the kids didn't rat me out, the teacher did.
Needless to say, I didn't get into a whole lot of trouble in elementary school.
I got hit by a teacher once in 1st grade...she caught me cheating on a test and she made me pull out my arms and lay them on the desk and she whacked me a few times...when my mom saw my arms and asked me what had happened..I told her and she snapped..she went after the teacher and everything, she locked herself in the bathroom and didn't want to come out It was awesome!!
That was the only time though...If anyone ever touched my kids I would beat the crap out of them
Well, our principal would call the parents first, have them come in, and then whack the snot out of the miscreant with them present.
I remember this HUGE paddleball paddle that he kept in his office, and I knew of a couple of kids that ended up on the business end of it; but I wasn't one of them.
But you're right. The only one allowed to administer spankings are the parents, not the teachers or principals.
If I had ever had a kid, and some teacher or prinicipal took it upon themselves to do that, without consulting me, I'd hit them with a steel baseball bat; right in the kneecaps.
In the Southeast Pacific, lies the sunken city of R'Leyh. There lies C'thulhu waits to return to our world with the other Great Old Ones. A hideous creature of enormous size and alien power, it waits for it's time to return patiently. For it has all the time in the world while it waits for the stars.

I'm all for spanking. It's been proven to work, and I truly believe the behavior of kids today is a result of a lack of this punishment. Time outs and taking things away don't really work. Kids become accustomed to them or flat out ignore them. Spanking is painful, immediate, and is remembered as a negative consequence of misbehaving. As long as it's not abused, it's a very effective punishment.
I would not trust letting teachers and principal's "spank" kids
To me it seems pervey or at least begs pervs to come out of the woodwork
Only parents should be allow to touch kids, imo
Here's a thought for you:
Most corporal punishment levied in schools has to have a witness. You cannot spank a kid without there being an adult witness (and in some cases two) present to prevent abuse. And generally, the punishment is delivered calmly and fairly evenly across the board (because the adult is not angry...they are doing their "job" so to speak). As a substitute teacher, I've been a witness to several cases of corporal punishment delivered by a teacher. I have never seen a teacher spank a child in a way that would even be considered abuse. And...parents have to give their consent in order for a child to receive corporal punishment.
In the home however, what you will find is many more cases of abuse because parents tend to spank kids when they are angry and they can take it a bit too far. There is also usually not another person to witness it. So it can get out of hand very easily since there is no or little accountability.
