The Ninth Configuration jumped to my mind. I've always loved that movie. I'm not sure if it's forgotten or just undiscovered.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Yep and it even had a sequel (which makes the first one look like high Drama)
I'll second a vote for Yor hunter from the Future - gotta love Reb Brown
Some of my favorites are cult classics like:
Remo Williams The Adventure Begins
Bucakroo Banzai Adventures across the 8th Dimension - Peter Weller before Robocop
Trancers
Highlander (the first one)
Re-animator
Evil Dead (earlier somone brought up Army of Darkness but that is actually in the early 90's)
Hell comes to Frogtown - gotta love some Roddy Piper and Post apocalyptic desert
2 More great Fred Ward (Remo Williams) 80's films are
Timerider the Adventure of Lyle Swann - Which also has Peter Coyote in it
and Cast a Deadly Spell - Which also has Cleancy Brown in itComment

I got the Ice Pirates at Big Lots a few month back for $3. I remember really liking it as a kid but I had to turn it off as an adult. It's really bad. Eddie and The Cruisers is kind of hard to forget cause the Beaver Brown song always pops up every now and again. It did make me think of a few more though...Streets of Fire, First Born (with Robo Cop) Baby (the dinosaur movie) and the mention of Hero At Large reminded me of The Return of Captain Invincible which I'd love to see again but it's never been released on DVD.Last edited by spacecaps; Sep 10, '12, 3:25 PM."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

There used to be a store here that had tons of old VHS, I rented Ice Pirates (first time I'd ever seen it) Return of Captain Invincible (that was tough to sit through) and a slew of other junk. I'm sorry they closed up, I managed to scoop some clam shell delights before they did.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

No it's not a sequel. The title just reminded me of it. I saw Captain Invincible once when I was 10. I'd like to go back and revisit it if I ever found it. If it's anywhere near the quality of Ice Pirates, I'm sure it'll be a rough watch. If I remember correctly it was a 1950's type movie made in the 80's when everyone had a jonesing for 50's nostalgia so theres that. Also a few that came out a little later in like '90 or so that I thought of that are probably really awful to watch today...Second Sight with Cousin Balki, Mad House (Kirsti Alley) and Spaced Invaders."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment
