Estate Sale in NJ Tomorrow (LOTS of good stuff)

For those who live close by.

View information about this sale in Plainfield, NJ. The sale starts Thursday, September 6 and runs through Saturday, September 8.

Not a million miles away for me. But too much of a risk to drive all that way only to miss out on stuff or not buy because prices are too insane. Worth checking out if you are local though.

Yeah, if this were closer I would be all over it. I can only imagine the prices are going to be at darn near retail. Ugh! Nice stuff though.

if it starts at 10am, how early would one have to go to get a low number. how do these things work, only one person in at a time

They usually let in 5 at a time depending on the size of the house. Being that this is in the middle of the week it might get less attendance then if it was on a weekend. Hope that helps.

I have no idea how it works in Jersey, but where I'm from generally speaking the first 10 or so in line get there 2 to 3 hours ahead of time. I usually show up an hour early and am usually in the first 20. On high profile sales like this that will draw specific buyers I normally show up 2 hours early. However, it would help to know about the company that is doing the sale. In my area, after awhile you start to figure out which companies price to move and which ones put top dollar on everything. It would stink to wait in line 3 hours only to find that everything is top eBay price or more......

I know people have waited outside as early as 4:00AM and 5:00AM for crappier sales, so who knows.

                  I'd get there at 5:00AM.

They way they are showcasing this sale, tells you this stuff will not be cheap.

Typically on the first day, no. Of course it varies from estate company to estate company, but most of them do not budge on the first day of sale. If it's a 3 day sale they may start to mark things down on the second day by like 25% and by the last day 50%. It's also not unheard of for estates to pull certain items they do not what to be sold once the discount starts. Again, this stuff all varies depending on who is running the sale......

I'm close enough but between just coming back from vacation (limited funds) and not having enough notice to take off work I have to pass.
