    Wal-Mart expanding their toy department!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I went to our local Wally World last night...the action figure and Lego aisles are now double in size! Also, they're now carrying those Schleich collectible dinosaurs and animals, and get this...they brought back MODEL KITS! Whole new section with tons of kits, paint, glue, knives, sandpaper...everything you need.

It reminded me of the good old days.

This reminds me of a question I keep forgetting to ask.

My local Walmart has a pretty decent size toy section.

One thing I noticed is there's hardly ever any kids in it.

The whole section is pretty well empty except for a few grown men looking at the figures and matchbox cars.

Do kids not care about toys anymore ?

This was not just one time either ...

Are they gearing up for x-mas or is this permanent?
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

It might be for the holidays, thats what the dollar store usually does to. But I find it interesting that models are being sold there again. It'll be nice to find a model Batmobile or monsters at a decent price. I have a Wal-mart only a mile away I may have to go and see.

I dont think they care about them to the extent that we did as children. I dont think kids read or use their imagination as much either. To much media.

Agree. I bet the video game aisles had kids in 'em.

Around here, you usually see kids in the toy aisle. Of course, they soon realize the local Wal-Mart's selection of toys stink and then head for Target.

That was my first thought. Be nice if it was permanent.

Was at the local Wal-Mart today. All they did was switch the girls section with the boys section.

                          ------Target vs Walmart

Around here they're both a hit and miss

Target's DVD section is crazy good compared to Walmart's tiny crapola section.

Target has 5 times more TV's

                          Target has more clothes.

Now that I think about it Target beats Walmart out for almost everything

Only saving grace of Walmart is they have a bigger grocery area and some of their stuff is a little cheaper than Target.

Given the choice, I'd probably take Target.

Target also seems to have better customers ---- My local Walmart parking lot is a hangout for kids and Walmart security don't do anything about it.

I few weeks ago 7 girls (highschool-ish) beat up another girl really bad.

                          Oh,

Target has CRAZY CLEAN bathrooms compared to Walmart too.

Walmart bathrooms are always cover in poo, pee and puke

I'd hate to imagine what their ladies room looks like

The Target in Hunstville has Wal-Mart beat all the way around. It's a Super Target. So it has a normal sized grocery area.

Are you guys finding this new toy department located in the far back corner of the store. Takes forever to get there. My local walmart just did floor moves at it is now literally in the farthest corner away from the front doors.
