Toy Store prices ???

Every once in a while I go to this toy store. He has just about everything. Except prices. When you ask the worker at the counter he says hold on then looks it up on Ebay or says he needs to call the owner for price. This really bothers me. He always comes back with a very high price. They already know you must want it so they jack the price. Why can't the stuff be priced ?? His stuff is very nice I will give him that. A guy in the store with me was shopping like he was at walmart. When he ask for combined price , once again Clerk started ebaying and called THE BOSS. When given a total the guy almost had a heart attack. He said if he knew he was paying ebay pricing he would have gotten nothing. I can't stop going there , but I never buy nothing. I like stores with prices. What do you guys think.

I Totally agree! I get very irritated when I go to a store or anywhere for that matter and the sellers don't have prices...I know some people like it that way, they want you to stand there and wait and wait for them to finish talking/helping someone else just to ask what they want for something. I have passed on many an item because of that. What I have found most often is if they can't put a price on it, then they are usually way over priced and usually aren't worth asking about anyway!

This has GOT to be the "H.O.F" right? It's pretty rediculous...the place should just be called "save the shipping" because everything is maximum ebay price...so all you save is the shipping and half the time with some patience you can get most of it cheaper anyway!

Good guess !! I don't even think you save shipping. I guess ebay keeps him open. The worker should say "let me call my boss so he can stick it up your a%%" Its kind of like a museum. Now ITS A TOY STORE is where its at. He prices everything. And he gives you good deals. Inventory is always changing.

I hate places like that...there's a store down here that's still stuck in the 80's...I mean the dude still has 80's toys in the aisles...I had been going there since I was a kid, his storage room up stairs is filled with every 80's toy you can can name all factory sealed boxes...Sometime in the 90's someone told him what he had and now he brings out an old *** price guide(actually has 2 and goes for the higher price one ) and if he can't find it he bases it off ebay...he'll work with you on the price but it still bothers me

I use to love going just because where else can you see a glass display with only Nintendo, Genisis, Sega, & super nintendo games and systems

Next time ask him why hes counting the % you would have to pay ebay.

If I am at a show or simply in my store and something is not priced, I always give a low price because I woiuld hate to be accused of jacking a price. If they buy it great. If they don't then I price it appropriatly. I will never give a high price on an unmarked item. Just bad business.

oh it's fun shopping in there...he mostly only knows about a few action figure lines like Vintage Star wars and a few 80's stuff...anything else besides Barbies you can think off of the 80's you can get decent deals

By the way I haven't gone in a few years since I got into it with the guy, but I have friends that still do...He's known me since I was like 4 and knew I was collector so if he saw me pick something out no matter what it was he'd give me a collector price..Mind you everything is still marked with price tags form the 80's & 90's with the prices of back then...So i tried testing the guy and sent an idiot friend of mine who doesn't know crap about toys I find these Galoob dolls called baby face he had marked for $25, He charges me $75 each, i was selling them for $125 on ebay at the time... then my buddy comes in and he charges him $25!!! so i tell him hey this guy outside just told me he payed $25 each...long story short I'm not allowed in the store anymore it really ticked me off
