Congrats Scott!!! Seems like a lot of folks I know are really trying (and succeeding) in loosing a lot of weight. A guy I work with has shed 100 pounds since January. He looks like a totally different person.

Congrats buddy, I am thrilled to hear that. And Yes, I have lost exactly 80 pounds since we started. I am under 200 for the first time since I can't remember when. I just weighed myself at lunch and I am holding steady at 193. I think I have plateaued there as it's been that for about a month now. And I am happy with that. I don't want to lose any more weight as I am happy with how I look and I think (and others have told me, including my wife) that I shouldn't lose any more or I will be too thin. I checked online and "THEY" say that I should be 160 pounds (I am 6' exactly) and that's a bunch of crap. I weighed 175 in school and I was way too skinny. 160 would be anorexic. The other reason I am glad I have plateaued is because it was giving my wallet a hurtin buying new clothes every 3 or 4 weeks. I am on my 5th or 6th set of pants as I lost over 10 inches off my waist. Fortunately for me, the YMCA is two blocks down the street so I swim EVERY work day at lunch. I have gotten very toned up and my energy level is through the freakin roof. I still run into people who haven't seen me since Jan, and the look on their faces is priceless. The crowning moment came a few weeks ago when we were all going to the lake swimming. I was getting ready and just wearing my bathing suit and my wife called down to my son to see if he was going. He was coming up the steps and starting to say, "yeah, I think I am..." Then he saw me and shook his head and said "uh-uh, Lauren (one of his girlfriends) is working there today. There is no way I am letting her see me next to Dad in a bathing suit)!!! This is my 20 year old son who looks fine but doesn't want to be seen next to me. How sweet is that!

Anyway, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Congrats to you and thanks again for the inspiration. I know you want to shrug it off, but I have been wanting to do this for years and never found that spark I needed to do it till you posted back in Jan. I give you the credit every time when people ask me what made me decide to take the plunge.

(although I do have to admit that you one upped me. I DID have an ice cream cone when we were on vacation last month)

Scott, I could see a marked difference in June at the meet. You were one of the few people I got to talk to at the 2011 meet before I had to leave and I could see a big difference from 2011 to 2012. Keep it up.
