An ebay problem i need to run by you guys.

Well i was selling my hasbro wrestling figures and i was selling the rare green carded figures first as individual figures. So this buyer uses buy it now to buy one of them at $31.99, and pays me right away. So i get the email from ebay with the buyers information, i write it down and get ready to pack it up. So i always go to paypal itself to match up the address. Well the email i get from ebay says the guys name is Carlos and his address in in New York City. Well i look at paypal and it says the payment is from the same guy but the shipping address is a manuel from Miami. To me as a seller, that throws up a ton of red flags. Did this person rip off the other guys information. Miami is a few miles from New York. So i emailed the buyer and told them of the problem and i needed them to clear this up. That was when i received a very snippy email back saying it is not complex and that is the address he wants it shipped to.
So i emailed ebay about this problem as i do believe this is against policy and could come back and bite me in the backside in the long run. Do i just refund his money now, or wait till i hear back from ebay on the matter. I have been on ebay for 15 years and this just seems like it is against ebay rules. Maybe if he emailed me prior and said who he was and that he would like to have the item shipped to the other address and if that was ok, before he bought it, i would be less inclined to think something was fishy. He has good feedback and recent feedback. I just can't help but think this guy is pulling something fishy. I can even understand if he told me his friend also uses his paypal account cause he doesn't have a credit card, but his lack of a real answer also makes me wonder. I think i will just wait to see what ebay says. They are looking into it and will be able to see all the details as well as if there has been any recent changes to both accounts. What do you guys think?

If I'm reading this right you are saying that the ebay shipping address and the paypal shipping address are different? If so, this happens all the time for me. You go by the PAYPAL address--especially if it's confirmed. No big deal...

As long as Ebay responds in 24-48 hours I would wait for their answer, otherwise ship it.

Happens to me all the time. Go by the paypal address. It could be a gift.

I've had this happen often as well. I always email and inform the buyer that their addresses are different and ask them which to use.
But---their ebay feedback says a lot to me. If they are a relatively new ebayer I will only ship to the confirmed address. If they have a couple hundred positives and are at 100% I figure they're on the up-and-up.
It's good that you noticed the discrepancy.

This one is not as simple as a different address. Of course i have had that happen tons of times. And a simple email to the buyer asking what address is the correct one is fine. This is a different person and a different state all together. The second part being when i did ask the buyer about it he was a jerk. All he had to say was that it was a gift, or whatever reason. But instead he comes off with an attitude and just says he wants it shipped to the Miami address and if i don't trust him to just refund his money. Well of course i don't trust him. I have no idea who he is. I will wait til ebay says it is safe to ship.

Yup, that is the other reason i am waiting to hear back from ebay. If the Miami address was confirmed i would ship it, it is not, and it is also a PO box. My own address is a PO box but it is confirmed.
