Anyone w/ a dinosaur PC not getting YouTube?

    Hi all...

I know YoutTube is ending their Windows XP support soon, but have they ended it already? I came home and couldn't get YouTube, so I cleared my cookies. No dice. The site is still coming up, and I can see thumbnails for people's videos, but when I try to play them it won't work. The notice is still saying soon, not that they already ended it, so what's going on?

Anyone else w/ an old PC (that can't support Windows 7 or Vista) having this problem?

Its still working on mine. I have Xp also. Maybe something on your browser got disabled? Do you have Explorer 8 installed? If that doesnt work try installing firefox. Firefox is a very good browser.

BTW, I havent seen anything about ending support for XP, just Explorer 7.

That notice only appears on my old PC w/ Windows XP, not my laptop w/ Windows 7. I really don't like watching videos on a laptop. W/ my older PC it's kinda like watching on a small TV set. I've cleared my cookies and restarted my PC and still nothing.

        Hmmmm....

Your system will eventually receed to the point it can't run updates; especially on media or nerd heavy sites. Like youtube. I run XP and get youtube fine, but my system is only a couple years old so it can run updates. (Remember: Windows Update does a scan of your system and won't put up stuff you can't run.)

But I'm still getting Hulu. This doesn't make any sense.

            >This doesn't make any sense.

Welcome to the wonderful world of computers. It's possible that one uses an update module the other doesn't; so one can be read by your system, one not.

It's planned obsolescence; sites like youtube are always adding features to increase user value, but each round of features is based on the current system; so eventually you get squeezed out.
