I'm a major Styx fanboy and have listened since the 70s. I can't pick out an overall favorite because each album had great songs and one or two stinkers.
What you guys need to check out are their first two albums under the Wooden Nickel label before they went national. Its way more complex and quite heavier and guitar driven. Its like a different band but still cool. You can hear all the seeds that were planted for future albums. Deyoung and Shaw remain in my top five all time vocalists.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Very familiar with the first two albums. They are different and yet the same in many ways. Paradise Theater is still my favorite album because it came at a time in my life when I was really getting into music (15 years old) and every song resonated with me even though I didn't totally understand the words (like Snowblind). That album brings back more memories for me than any other album with the exception of the Saturday Night Fever album.
My favorite is Paradise Theater, although The Grand Illusion is great too.
BIG DITTO...and I'm sorry in advance for this but I could not stand 'Kilroy was Here'...I know a lot of folks do...but it was the first time I was keenly aware that a group was selling out.
Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!
I can give you singles, but I can't give you an album, since I've only owned 45s.
