One of my favorite recent YouTube discoveries has been videos by the Legion of Rock Stars, who take famous rock videos and dub in their own skillfully terrible covers. The combination can be just amazingly hilarious, even if I rarely make it through the first minute or two of the video.
Here are some of my favorites:
YouTube - California Dreamin'
YouTube - Too Legit To Quit
YouTube - Time Has Come Today
YouTube - Operator
YouTube - Secret Agent Man
And the best one:
YouTube - Mother
Probably more skilled is StSanders, who does similar videos, but mostly of live stage performances. He takes a lot of time to sync what's happening in the video, making it even more funny when the guitarists are making faces like they're making beautiful music, and the audio is absolutely terrible.
YouTube - Carlos Santana shreds
YouTube - Eric Clapton shreds
YouTube - Paco De Lucia shreds
YouTube - Eddie Van Halen shreds
