He guy that designed the mechanical effects for King Kong, ET and other films died a few days ago, RIP.

Indeed, he certainly had an illustrious career, having worked on such classics as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Alien, King Kong, ET, Dune, Conan the Detsroyer, The White Buffalo, Cat's Eye, etc.
