What kind of tattoo would you get

I made some things of a friends tattoo shop and since I wouldn't let him pay me, he is offering a tattoo to me. Now I have none right now, never thought about getting one before, even though more than half the people I know have some. I was thinking something like this, what do you think, or what would you get for your free tattoo?

    EDIT
After what I've read, I'm thinking if I've made it this long without one I'm thinking I'll stay that way. I can't even decide on a tie sometimes, shouldn't be picking something so permanent. Thanks all for your imput

I worked as a tattooist for nearly ten years before giving it up for the quiet life of model-maker and sculptor.
I think that if you're drawn towards the Superman symbol you should just get the symbol itself, either in red and yellow, or just black and grey if you want something more subtle.

Personally, I would steer away from it coming out of torn skin.

I have many tattoos and it doesn't hurt. More like little pin pricks .

Make sure you want it because if you ever want to get it removed it will be costly and very painful!

The truth... you want the TRUTH?

On most parts of your body that you are likely to get your first tattoo, the feeling is really very bearable, and is akin to a slightly burning scratch. You get used to it quickly after the initial discomfort.

Unless you are getting it on your ribs, elbows, knees or other choice spots, I think you'll be fine.

As 80stoyman said, make sure you want it before you jump in. If you're not sure, wait a couple of weeks/months/years, and if you still like the idea then go for it

absolutely not. All mine mean something behind it. All were drawn up and one was even represented on the TV show 'LA INK'

One of mine is in tribute to my brother who was killed in Iraq and mine and my brothers military service.

It is definitely a preference. Make sure you want it because it is there for life and you wake up with it everyday!!!

I have mine all ready, designed it myself. A medieval winged dragon (like in Reign of Fire), head and body on my upper arm, wings on my shoulder blade, and the tail coiling around my lower arm.
                    Anybody want to sponsor me?

i wouldn't get one at all either. i am not opposed to people getting them and even think some look really great, but to me it would be like a scar on my body....there forever

                            I dunno,

Imagine being a real old man in a rest home and having tattoos of comic book characters, dragons or anything all over.

Seems like it would get giggles out of the staff

Tattoo's are a current fashion that you're stuck with for life ...
