We DVR MasterChef....aside from Top Chef/Top Chef Masters/Iron Chef/The Next Iron Chef it seems to be the fifth best cooking show...
I like Gordon Ramsey and Graham Elliot but Joe Bastianich's act is getting a bit tiresome. Enough already with tasting something, glaring at the contestant, and then walking away without saying anything...
No Reservations, Bizarre Foods, and Man vs Food for me.
No doubt great shows and we DVR those also but they aren't really cooking shows...more lifestyle/commentary shows. I kind of lost most interest in NR when he moved away from the food and more social/political commentary.

That's why I love them...and Bourdain and I have much in common...lol.
I do not watch instructional cooking shows much (and I prefer anything on PBS than the Food Network)....but if I must watch some...it's Marcela Valladolid's Mexican Made easy...and Rick Bayless' One Plate at a Time.
I also like Jacques Pépin...and of course...the immortal...Julia Child.
My wife and I watched Chopped alot. I'm not really sure why. When the kids go to bed, and we're vegging on the couch, it's just mindless entertainment. The baskets are so odd we never really get any usable cooking ideas either. I can't explain it.
My wife watches Chopped, i'll occassional check it out and find it pretty cool to watch being that's how I make dinner most of the time, open the fridge and see what happens! fun times!
Master Chef is pretty good. I like Monty too Mike. Her, Becky and Felix are pretty cool. Ramsey is a lot less harsh than on Hell's Kitchen. The challenge where they had to use corn to make a dessert tho? I thought that was really reaching.

Monty can be a bit annoying but the worst was that guy Ryan who called himself 'The Flavor Elevator'....
Yeah, that guy and the guy who said, "Why can't they understand the genius of my cooking?" The arrogance of some of these contestants baffles me.
