Back in '91 "Merciless" Ray Mercer fought Tommy "The Duke" Morrison for the WBO Heavyweight Title. Morrison was dominating early on, but by the 5th round he either tired out or got stunned by a shot near the temple, then hilarity ensues. The Duke took the beating of a lifetime; I mean this idiot got the bejesus knocked outta' him to the point where he was still throwin' punches while sitting on his stool after the fight was over. I don't know if it was his annoying face or the fact that he was rockin' a mullet, but I can't help laughing every time I see this beat-down; and I must have seen it over 100 times in one version or other.

So here goes the question for fans of the squared circle: Should a boxer stop throwing punches when he realizes that his opponent is done, or is Game On until the referee stops the action? It's pretty obvious that in the case of Little Tommy, the ref got there a bit late and Tommy Boy took at least 4 or 5 extra shots that could have lead to serious injury. Now, I myself have seen boxers like Larry Holmes, who start to lay off the punches once they realize that their opponent is unable to respond. They look over at refs like sayin', "C'mon, stop this thing." Then again, I've seen fighters like Mike Tyson go after an opponent long after he was done and it took the ref to separate the fighter from the carcass.
When do you fans feel that a boxer's responsibility to keep throwing punches ends?
