    Any fans of The Theatre?

My wife and I just got back from watching Alfred Molina perform in Red at L.A.'s Mark Taper Forum.

This guy's gone from (loosely) playing Wonderland killer Eddie Nash in Boogie Nights, to bedding the hottest version of Frida ever caught on film, to throwin' down with Spidey as Doc Ock. Now he portrays troubled artist Mark Rothko in the brilliant production of Red.

If you're in the area and in the mood for a great play, do check it out. It's playing at the Taper through 9/9 and well worth the ticket price.

I saw Toronto's Canstage production of Red earlier this year. Enjoyed it a great deal. Molina would have been terrific I'd imagine.

Molina was amazing. Who played the role of Rothko in the Canstage production?

Seen a fair few theatre productions over the years.

One of the most memorable was Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine/The Emperor from the SW movies) in a production of Edward II.
        Great performance.

to me, whenever I see Molina I can only hear one line in my head: "Throw me the idol, I'll throw you the whip!"

It's nice to know that Rothko did eventually get a dedicated space for an audience to experience his work.
